Hello, My name is Andy Szofran.I would like to be your fishingguide. I have been a fly tyer since age 10, a fly fisherman since age 12, and a guide since age 18.I fish between 150and 200 days a year, mostly for trout with some steelhead, bass, and carp thrown in for good measure.I have fished the waters in the Red Lodge, MT area since 1990.Besides fishing, I also guided class V whitewater trips when I was in my teens and 20’s.I still enjoy rowing big whitewater for fun in the offseason. You can be assured my rowing skills and safety on the river are second to none. Most of all, I enjoy teaching people how to fish.Many times I have put a fly rod in someone’s hands for the first time.We progress from teaching them to make their first cast, to getting a good drift, to eventually landing their first trout. Over the course of that day, and other days spentguiding them over the years, it has been veryrewarding to watch them progress as fly fishermen.I love to work with intermediate to advanced anglers.It is fun for me to watch the lights come on as I teach them the finer points of casting, reading the water, and getting a good drift over the fish. Although, I fish and am available to guide year round our season is realistically late March through mid November.July, August, and September are the busy months so please call early to book your date.
